UB Greensfelder currently has an opening for a full-time Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Marketing Department working in the Chicago, St. Louis, Cleveland or Cincinnati office. The Business Intelligence Analyst plays an integral role in advancing client insights and knowledge of the key markets in which the firm operates including assisting in discovering new business opportunities, enhancing new client relationships, and supporting marketing efforts overall.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Leveraging various research and competitive intelligence tools (including Bloomberg Law, Westlaw, CNS, D&B Hoovers, etc.) gathers, summarizes, and synthesizes relevant, targeted information about current and prospective clients, industries, practices, and competitor law firms for attorneys and administrative groups to identify revenue-generating opportunities and facilitate decision making in key markets and industries.
  • Prepares the Business Development team and firm attorneys for meetings with clients and prospects by providing data-rooted reports and presentations in a digestible format and summarizing key insights and findings.
  • Keeps a pulse on the legal industry, client industries, and other news sources and proactively recommends ways to best leverage the information.
  • Monitors and enhances client segmentation, pipeline tracking, and opportunity management using the CRM to generate an opportunity score card.
  • Collects, organizes, and maintains matter descriptions, jurisdictional expertise, industry/sector and practice nuances for an experience database.
  • Supports the Marketing/Business Development team and the attorneys in vetting new business opportunities and provides recommendations and reporting on the value of investments and the ROI of such opportunities including, but not limited to:
    • RFPs/Pitches
    • Firm events
    • Outside awards/nominee analysis
    • Third-party legal rankings
    • Speaking engagements
    • Tickets and client entertainment
    • Sponsorships and charitable contributions
    • Professional dues and memberships
    • Other data as further determined

 

Qualified Applicants Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a preferred background in business, economics, library, information science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in legal/professional services related field with familiarity with CRM databases common to the legal industry. Preferred experience with Intapp DealCloud but other legal industry CRM experience is acceptable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex research into clear, actionable summaries.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Motivated, takes initiative, knows how to prioritize, is organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong technical skills and experience with marketing technology platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
